Sustainability and Its Importance

Sustainability is basically everything that we need (directly or indirectly) for survival by our environment – the natural environment. Furthermore, I learned that sustainability is important to making sure that we have the water, materials, and resources to protect human health and our environment. EPA has taken steps to make sustainability the next level of environmental protection by drawing on advances in science and technology (protecting human health and environment.) And, we all can reduce our environmental footprints, by learning more about the environmental issues (Google alerts can help :)), recycling – volunteer too in your community, buying energy star products – reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and many other things. I set up a couple of Google alerts, and I must say, Google alerts are very helpful, efficient, and cool. Basically, Google e-mails you whenever it finds new results on the search term, so if you’re interested in learning about sustainability, then you’d create the Google alert on sustainability, and Google will e-mail whenever it has new exciting and awesome things on the topic that you’ve created (Google alert.) As far as twitter, I haven’t made one, but I will definitely make one to keep up with the latest environmental information. To be honest, I never realized how helpful Twitter could actually be, haha. I always thought of it as the website for “children,” but now I know, it’s very appropriate for learning and networking as well. So I’ve officially been sold! I will create one pretty soon.

And if you have time, check out the EPA website!
